Atlantic Oaks CampgroundThe Atlantic Oaks is one of the best RV parks on the Cape and our friends who have pulled their "rigs" in to this Eastham campground have given it the thumbs up on all levels. But it also boasts several designated tenting sites that are spacious and private so don't worry if you're tent campers like us. You'll still find plenty to like about Atlantic Oaks. Eastham is known as the gateway to the outer Cape, and is a great spot to settle down to explore both the lower and the outer Cape towns. Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown are right down Route 6 from here, and Orleans, Harwich, Brewster and Chtham are just minutes away. Atlantic Oaks abuts the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which is one of our favorite bike trails. You'll be able to ride up to Marconi Beach or all the way down to Dennis. Beaches and fresh water ponds are nearby. And by riding your bikes to these beaches, you won't have to pay the beach entrance fee! They do allow camp fires - yay! - one of the few Cape campgrounds that permit open fires. Free hot showers and a new 5,000 square foot rec center make this place a good bet. Although you'll find plenty of families, they enforce their quiet hours and you'll find plenty of couples camping there, too.
