Cranberry Valley Golf CourseCranberry Valley has a classic Cape Cod feel to it with more than its share of marshes, ponds, cranberry bogs pine forests to make the course both picturesque and challenging. It's municipal course that was originally built in 1974 (though it feels much older) and recently underwent a series of renovations, including the redesign and addition of several bunkers, improvement of the practice areas and upgrading of the driving range, which is now among the best in the mid-Cape area. There is also a brand new clubhouse. The course was originally designed by famed golf architects Geoffrey Cornish and Bill Robinson. There are half a dozen doglegs, which have the effect of adding yardage to what would otherwise be a modest 6,745 yard course. These include the huge 530 yard double dogleg that is the 18th Straight drives that stay in the middle of fairways will serve you well if you play this course as the rough really is quite, well, rough since the installation of a brand new irrigation system a couple of years ago. Players with long drives might want to try and clear the traps but, be warned, a large part of the reason for the aforementioned bunker redesign was specifically to protect par against some of the newer longer-hitting equipment. Water comes into play on three holes (all on the back nine) and the pine forests are an ever-present threat.
