Paines Campground in Wellfleet has been in the same family since the late 1950's and is known as a tent camping 'paradise" because there're only a handul of RV sites.

We prefer campgrounds with few or no RV's and Paine's Campground retains that old style camp ground feel.

With 150 sites tucked in a pine and oak forest, Paine's has four different camping areas.

They have a couples only section- only one couple per site and it is quiet and separated from the family and group sections, making it an ideal nesting spot for the couple visiting the Cape.

They also have a few 'lug in' sites, for those who want more privacy. And they are one of the few Cape Campgrounds that allow fire pits so you can kick back at the end of the day with a nice fire and a cocktail.

Wellfleet is an ideal location to set up camp because Truro and Provincetown are minutes away. And with those tasty Wellfleet Oysters so close by, grab a few dozen and bring them back to Paine's for an al fresco brinary starter.
