Wellfleet Beachcomber
A Beachy Hip Vibe on Cahoon Hollow Beach
The Wellfleet Beachcomber, or the Beachcomber, is the Town of Wellfleet's most recognized restaurant and is known for its hip beachy vibe, their impressive raw bar, and great music. It also reminds of us our lost youth!
We'll pack the car early on a Saturday morning with our beach paraphernalia and head out to Cahoon Hollow, our favorite Cape Cod Beach.
We'll spend the day swimming and reading under our colorful beach umbrella, looking forward to sucking down a cold beer and a plate of oysters at the Beachcomber.
The cold beer and the briny shellfish are a well-deserved reward for climbing up that stroke-inducing hill. Be warned, that hill isn't too bad going down- but the return journey- and we are an active couple- always makes us catch our breath.
The food is decent. We've had most of the items on the menu- fried clams, fish, burgers, etc and it's not going to earn a Michelin star but that's okay in our book. You can't get any closer to Wellfleet Oysters than at the Beachcomber.
If you can snag a parking spot in the lot owned by the Beachcomber- (their lot is behind their restaurant and to the side.) they'll take the $15.00 parking fee off your bill (you must buy food, not just drinks)
Or if you have a favorite neice or nephew that you have to buy a souvenir for, get them a Beachcomber t-shirt or hat.
The nearby parking lot owned by the Town of Wellfleet also charges $15, but you don't get any money off at the Beachcomber!
It's worth it to grab a seat outside and although you can't see the beach, it's still a nice feeling.
Check out their website for their menu, daily specials and live music schedule.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Raw Bar

We love the raw bar - nothing like a cold beer and raw clams. Wish the Cape had more bars/restaurants on the ocean.
